A hands-on, no-coding-needed workshop for women to explore machine learning, design thinking, and how creative, diverse perspectives can shape a more inclusive future in tech.
Together, we’ll use a collaborative game to mix algorithms and datasets and come up with bold, human-centered ideas—then explore what they could mean out in the real world.
This workshop is grounded in the belief that tech needs more diverse voices at the table—not just to make it fairer, but to make it better. We’ll talk about how women engage with digital tools differently, and how that insight can lead to more inclusive, empowering tech. You don’t need to be a “coder” to be part of this world—tech is powered by design, strategy, and empathy just as much as it is by code.
Facilitated by Tonielle Purdy: Local graphic and strategic designer with 14 years’ experience, mum, and creative thinker diving into the world of machine learning.
Stepping back into design work again after four years of raising kids, a lot has shifted in the digital space, and I’m learning to integrate AI into my own design practice. It’s become apparent that creative skills like communication, design thinking, and problem-solving are critical to the future of tech.
By the end of the session, I want everyone to feel like they have a place in shaping the future of technology.
